July 10 Team News

We're pleased to let you know that the graduate student team will be in Geneva, Switzerland in mid-July to mid-August.

We'll finish our graduate degree in Geneva! We will also meet with our graduate project partner, Cissa Wa Numbe, Director of UNA-DRC, and plan the next activities for the next 6 to 12 months.

Although The Congo Cause and AmaniDRC.org began as graduate projects, we hope and plan for these supportive educational, awareness raising, and fund raising programs to continue into the future -- with your help!

"We get by with a little help from our friends!"

July 9 Guest Essay on ABC News

Read Ben Affleck's Guest Essay on ABC News relating what he has learned about Congo during his three recent trips. They have provided an excellent summary of events in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Thank you, Ben Affleck and ABC Nightline! We're believing the awareness you can bring will make a difference.

July 7 More Photos of the Bed Nets Distribution

We have added an additional ten photos to the slide show gallery of the mosquito bed net distribution in the Goma region of Congo.

The newest photos are from the Goma, North Kivu nets distribution by the team from Goma UNA-DRC Branch.

Mosquito bed nets were distributed in two different provinces of Kivu, in eastern part of Congo: In the province of South-Kivu (with Bukavu as capital city), and also in North-Kivu (with Goma as capital city).

The beneficiaries of the distribution in Goma, North-Kivu were internally displaced people living in camps, while in South-Kivu, the beneficiaries of free nets were pregnant women and those with babies or poor families.

We've also added some informative captions. Please check out the photos to see how your help has made a huge difference!
